A series that was part morality tale and part delightfully campy sendup, it was all cool. Much as we loved  Swampie
and his alter ego Dr. Alec Holland, it was Dr. Anton Arcane who
made the show for us. Deliciously, narcissistically,
unapologetically evil yet so droll, and with so much panache. In
our opinion, Dr. Arcane is the funniest villain ever.
It isn't easy doing comedy, especially camp. Really easy to be
heavy-handed and silly. But MLC had just the right touch. His
performance was nothing short of brilliant. And the fact that he
is gorgeous (with GREAT hair)--well, that is just icing on the cake...a
very, very
delicious cake..."A Jury of His Fears" may be the funniest program we have ever seen. Arcane gets jolted into a coma and starts hallucinating. He finds himself in an old-fashioned striped prison suit, on trial, with continuing characters Tressa Kipp as the judge and Will Kipp as both the prosecuting and defense attorneys. Many of the people he has harmed, including the mutants, freaks and monsters he created, are on the jury. Not too kindly disposed to Dr A's "experiments"...H--m-m...wonder why... MLC even plays his own mother.... Are you getting the picture here? The quips and bon mots fly and the result is hilarious. We almost hurt our sides laughing so hard.   One of Dr. Arcane's "offenses" was "bad hair." Actually we think he's pretty cute with this hair...
